Hanoi (VNA) – Singapore recently conducted a raid in its southern part, seizing illegally manufactured health products and related items worth about 51,000 SGD (about 38,760 USD), its Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said on April 21.
During the raid on March 21 at a residential flat, the HSA confiscated over 18,000 units of prescription medicines and supplements for sexual enhancement, several pieces of equipment and paraphernalia used to manufacture capsules, along with 30 e-vaporisers and related components.
The authority said in a statement that it has not detected the sale of the illegally manufactured products online.
Under Singapore's law, individuals found guilty of importing, manufacturing or supplying illegal health products face a two-year jail term, a 50,000 SGD fine, or both. Those convicted of importing, distributing or selling e-vaporisers, commonly known as vapes, face a 10,000 USD fine or six-month imprisonment for their first offence. The punishment doubles for a second or subsequent offence./.

Johor–Singapore SEZ set to strengthen supply chains
Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong noted that escalating tensions between the US and China have led to a volley of tit-for-tat tariffs, effectively choking off trade between the world’s two largest economies. These developments will have significant implications on businesses in Singapore and Malaysia, many of which are embedded within the production and supply chains of both the US and China.
