Singaporean firms interested in property market

Almost 100 leading Singaporean businesses operating in real estate, infrastructure and education are attending and introducing products at the Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum in Hanoi.

Almost 100 leading Singaporean businesses operating in real estate,infrastructure and education are attending and introducing products atthe Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum in Hanoi.

The three-day forum, which opened on Nov. 30, focuses on real estatewhich is considered an attractive investment channel of Singaporeaninvestors.

Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce andIndustry (VCCI) Doan Duy Khuong said Vietnam and Singapore have enjoyedtime-honoured relations, especially in economics and trade.

As ofOct. 20, 2011, Singapore had invested over 23.3 billion USD in 968projects in Vietnam, ranking third among foreign investors. Of the totalinvestment, 7.6 billion USD has been poured into 50 property projects.

Two-way trade reached 10 billion USD last year, a quadruple increase year-on-year.

Accordingto the VCCI official, the combination between the abundant workforce ofVietnam and high technology of Singapore will help establish developeconomic zones and improve the competitiveness of both countries andASEAN./.
