Son La (VNA) – The People’s Committee of Son La province collaborated with Vietnam Airlines to organised a ceremony on February 12 to mark the transportation of strawberry grown in the northern province to serve on Vietnam Airlines flights.
At the ceremony held in Co Noi commune, Mai Chau district, over 500 kg of strawberry were handed over to Vietnam Airlines.
2025 marks the second year of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Son La and Vietnam Airlines for the 2024-2028 period.
In the 2024-2025 strawberry season, Son La has cultivated 743.2 ha of strawberry, with an expected yield of over 9,369 tonnes, of which approximately 2,094 tonnes have been consumed.
Son La strawberry meets standards such as the use of organic fertilisers, being free from pathogens and pesticide residues, undergoing irradiation to prevent parasites, and possessing food safety certificates from competent authorities with clear origins, ensuring quality and food safety for both domestic and export markets.
In addition to fresh strawberry sales, Son La strawberry is also purchased by businesses for processing into products such as strawberry jam, dried strawberry, and strawberry syrup.
In 2024, plum grown in Son La was served on in-flight meals on Vietnam Airlines flights./.
