Storm Jebi has killed three in Hoa Binh and injured four others in Quang Ninh and Bac Giang when it swept through these northern provinces.

The storm also battered hundreds ofhouses, submerged thousands of hectares of rice and vegetable crops anddamaged major infrastructural facilities in the provinces and othernorthern localities.

According to the Offices ofthe Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control andthe National Committee on Search and Rescue, the storm cost Quang Ninhprovince an economic damage of around 10 billion VND.

In Hoa Binh province, torrential rains that came as a follow-up of Jebi, submerged around 500 houses in Hoa Binh city.

In Bac Giang province, 1,500 ha of rice and vegetables were inundatedand 10 metres of Duong Duc embankment, Lang Giang district were broken.

Bac Ninh province reported damage of 745 hectares ofsubsidiary crops while Lang Son province said 105 houses had roofs blownup.

According to the National Centre forHydro-meteorological Forecast, water levels on the rivers in the northare rising strongly, which would come together with floods.

The Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control hasasked northern and midland provinces to continue keeping an eye onchanging weather patterns to take prompt prevention activities.-VNA

The aid package includes antibiotics, digestive medications, cold and flu remedies, and basic healthcare equipment like blood pressure monitors, blood glucose metres, bandages, and disinfectants.
