Blooming flowers used to be a good sign in the Tay Tuu flower village of Hanoi. It means a good harvest and high income await. However, this year everything has changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coming to Tay Tuu these days, people can see images of unharvested fresh flowers everywhere. They stay unattended on the fields, or arranged in bunches, or discarded like trash on the roadside.

Flower growers only cut down high value flowers like roses, lilies, etc. They put those flowers in storage and wait for a more favorable time to sell.

Farmers in the village all feel sad because no one wants their flowers. The biggest wish of farmers here is to end the pandemic as soon as possible, so they can sell their flowers and recover some losses./.
