Thai Crown Prince to pilot charity flight to South

Thai Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will pilot a charity flight to the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat on December 21, 2013 to raise fund for an educational foundation under the royal patronage.

Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office Lieutenant SunisaLertpakhawat announced at a press conference after the weekly Cabinetmeeting on November 12 that the Government will play host to the royalcharity flight as the first pilot.

The flight willdepart from Bangkok on December 21, 2013 to Nakhon Si Thammaratprovince, where the Crown Prince will attend a merit making ceremony atWat Phra Maha Thart Monastery.

Tickets for the flight willcost 500,000 THB per seat and are expected to raise a total of 50million THB. The Government has set up a steering committee to ensuresmooth arrangement of the charity flight.

A royalpermission will be requested for the production of special pins bearingthe Crown Prince’s initials, to be distributed to the 100 supporters ofthe charity flight.-VNA
