The Amata Group of Thailand views Da Nang as a long-term investmentopportunity in Vietnam, said its President Vikrom Kromadit.
Talking with Vietnam Investment Review newspaper, Amata GroupPresident Vikrom Kromadit said in his eyes Da Nang boasts manyadvantages as the most attractive tourist destination in Vietnambecause of its beautiful coastal location and good airportinfrastructure. In addition, the city’s developmental master planfocuses on tourism services until 2050, he said, adding that moretourists will travel by large cruise liners in the future.
The Amata Group has invested in the infrastructure of Vietnam ’sindustrial zones (IZ) for 17 years and has a commitment to developingmodern and environmentally friendly IZ, the company president said.Amata Vietnam Joint Stock Company, a member of the Amata Group, is nowdeveloping a 20ha trade zone at the Amata industrial zone in Bien Hoacity of southeastern Dong Nai province, with an investment capital of 2billion USD.
Regarding the competitiveness amongVietnam ’s IZ, he said Vietnam has too many IZ and many have mergedor become bankrupt.
The Amata Group suffered someimpact from the Vietnamese Government’s recent adjustment in grantinglicences to industrial and export processing zones, he said, adding thatthe move is necessary to raise the quality of competitiveness among thezones.
To attract more investors in IZinfrastructure, he suggested Vietnam reduce inflation and interestrates and raise infrastructure quality particularly transport.-VNA
