Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - Thailand’s Culture Minister has led government officials to meet with the Prime Minister to discuss preparations to organize the "237th Year of Rattanakosin City under Royal Benevolence" event from March 8-10.

At the meeting with Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Culture Minister Weera Rojpojanarat explained that the event serves to build ties among ASEAN member states as well as dialogue partners.

Weera noted that ASEAN countries have a shared heritage, with diverse traditions and cultures that make up the unique identity of each nation. He expressed his belief that these traditions and cultures are worth sharing and preserving for posterity.

The event will see the participation of 10 countries, including Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, China and India.-NNT/VNA
