Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Tokyo Girls Collection Vietnam (TGC Vietnam) 2026 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on March 28–29, marking the first time the renowned Japanese music-fashion festival is held in Vietnam.
Founded in 2005, Tokyo Girls Collection has become a pop culture phenomenon in Japan, known for promoting ready-to-wear and street fashion trends. The event has expanded in scale and influence, attracting more than 30,000 spectators to each edition.
The decision to bring TGC to Vietnam is viewed as a strategic step in its expansion across Southeast Asia.
The first day of TGC Vietnam will be open to the public free of charge and focus on fashion and lifestyle experiences. Activities will include Vietnam–Japan cultural exchanges, food and shopping spaces, Harajuku-inspired check-in areas, and runway shows featuring Japan’s distinctive fashion DNA.
There will be a large-scale music-fashion concert, where runway performances will be interwoven with live musical acts, on the second day.
The concert night is expected to be the highlight of TGC Vietnam 2026. J-pop performances will play a leading role in the programme, featuring two Japanese representatives – eight-member boy band One Or Eight and singer-songwriter Miyuna, winner of the international music competition Sing! Asia 2025.
In addition to Japanese performers, the event will bring together a line-up of Vietnamese artists, including Soobin, Quang Hung MasterD, Min, Phuong Ly, Rhyder, Captain Boy and LyLy.
Aoki Mitsuru, executive director of WTOKYO and a representative of the organisers of TGC Vietnam 2026, said this is a golden time to bring TGC to Vietnam, a promising market where young people have a strong passion for fashion. He added that the organisers aim to create a version of TGC Vietnam that meets international standards while reflecting local cultural identity./.
