Tourism revenue up nearly 110 trillion VND in 2018

Vietnam’s tourism revenue is estimated at 620 trillion VND (26.5 billion USD) in 2018, an increase of nearly 110 trillion VND against the previous year.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s tourism revenue is estimated at 620 trillion VND(26.5 billion USD) in 2018, an increase of nearly 110 trillion VND against theprevious year.

According to statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism,the country welcomed about 15.6 million international visitors and 80 milliondomestic tourists this year, an increase of 2.7 million and 6.8 millionvisitors respectively over 2017.

HCM City led the countryonce again with 36.5 million visitors, including 7.5 million internationalvisitors and 29 million domestic tourists. Hanoi welcomed about 28 millionvisitors, including 5.5 million international tourists.

Notably, the northern province of Quang Ninh emerged as an attractive newdestination this year. It attracted 12.5 million visitors, including 5.3million international visitors, surpassing the central city of Da Nang with 7.7million tourists, including nearly three million international visitors.

With a constantly growing number of tourists, Vietnam’s tourism industryexpects to serve a total of 103 million visitors in 2019.-VNA
