Toyota Vietnam posts 58% hybrid car sales gain in 2025 on high demand

Hanoi (VNA) – Toyota Motor Vietnam sold 1,082 hybrid vehicles in December 2025, pushing full-year hybrid deliveries to 8,474 units, a 58% increase from 2024, signaling growing preference among Vietnamese buyers for fuel-efficient models that maintain practical performance.

Announcing its 2025 business results on January 2, the company reported total sales of 71,954 vehicles inn 2025, up 8% year-on-year.

December volume reached 8,719 units, including the Lexus brand. Toyota-branded deliveries totaled 8,329 units, split between 3,597 locally assembled vehicles (CKD) and 4,732 completely built-up (CBU) imports. The monthly performance contributed to annual sales of 71,954 units, up 8% from 2024 and reinforcing Toyota’s leading position within the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

In the luxury segment, Lexus maintained momentum with 390 units handed over in December, lifting 2025 deliveries to 2,252. Cumulative Lexus sales in Vietnam have now reached 16,064 units since the brand’s launch.

By model, the Vios sedan reclaimed the top spot in December with 1,972 units sold, followed by the Yaris Cross compact SUV with 1,393 units. Other strong performers included the Veloz Cross with 1,310, Innova Cross 1,121 and Corolla Cross 539. Remaining CKD and CBU models added a combined 1,994 units.

With Toyota and Lexus combined sales totaling 74,206 units for 2025, the company said it plans to advance its sustainability push by expanding hybrid offerings, enhancing product quality and after-sales support, and incorporating advanced safety features to meet evolving customer demands while supporting national emissions-reduction targets./.
