HCMCity (VNA) - Two concerts at the HCM City Music Conservatory willfeature artists of Vietnam and the Republic of Korean (RoK) this weekend.

TheAsian Melodies event, to take place tomorrow night, includes 17 Korean artistsfrom the troupe Deobureosup Music, one of the region’s leading traditionalmusic troupes.

Vietnameseand Korean folk pieces, including Tro Ve Tay Nguyen (Returning the CentralHighlands), Heothuntrum and Phannoreum, will be performed.

Theywill play traditional instruments, including the Gayageum (Korean zither-likestring instrument), Geomungo (Korean stringed musical instrument of the zitherfamily with both bridges and frets), and Geomungo Sogeum and Piri flutes.

TheDeobureosup was established in 2014 and is known for both traditional andcontemporary music styles. It has won several top prizes at traditional musiccompetitions and festivals in the RoK and other Asian countries.

AsianMelodies will also feature Vietnamese artists, including Nguyen Hong My Linh andLe Thi Thu Thao of the HCM City Music Conservatory.

TheApril Concert event will feature the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra led byconductor Tran Vuong Thach. The performance includes works by Beethoven,Strauss, Rossini, Bizet and Carl Maria von Weber.-VNA

Exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh opens at EXPO 2025 in Japan

Vietnamese cultural values promoted in Germany

Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Leipzig Bui Quang Huy said that the event was expected to help the second and third generations of overseas Vietnamese in Germany better understand their roots, and the Vietnamese community in Leipzig to strengthen solidarity.

Bookcase project helps spread Vietnamese language in Thailand

Featuring 600 titles, the bookcase offers a diverse range of content suitable for all ages and proficiency levels. It includes colorful picture books for young children who are beginners in their mother tongue, as well as textbooks and reference materials for students at Vietnamese language schools across Thailand.
