Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh (R) welcomes Captain Cecil Ladislaus (Source: VNA) Hai Phong (VNA) – The UK Royal Navy’s survey vessel HMS Enterprisearrived at Tan Vu port in the northern city of Hai Phong on February 19,beginning a week-long visit to Vietnam.
The visit takes place onthe occasion of the UK and Vietnam celebrating the 10th anniversaryof bilateral strategic partnership, with security and defence an importantcooperation field.
It offers a goodchance for both sides to intensify collaboration in hydrographic affairs andtighten connectivity between the two navies.
Captain CecilLadislaus said that the visit to the Asia-Pacific region would be anopportunity for the ship crew to coordinate with partners in conductingmaritime security patrols, thus helping manifest the UK’s commitment tomaintaining navigation freedom.
During their stay inVietnam, HMS Enterprise crew will pay courtesy visits to leaders of themunicipal People’s Committee and the Naval Command.
They will leave HaiPhong for other destinations on February 25./.
