Ukrainian Embassy thanks An Giang police for humanitarian support

An Giang province's police said on November 5 that they have received an official diplomatic note from the Embassy of Ukraine in Vietnam, expressing deep appreciation for their timely and humanitarian efforts in rescuing and helping to repatriate a Ukrainian national in distress.

An Giang (VNA) – An Giang province's police said on November 5 that they have received an official diplomatic note from the Embassy of Ukraine in Vietnam, expressing deep appreciation for their timely and humanitarian efforts in rescuing and helping to repatriate a Ukrainian national in distress.

In the note, the embassy commended the compassion and sense of justice of the Vietnamese people, and highly valued the professionalism and dedication of An Giang’s police in assisting the Ukrainian citizen - Oleksandr Kyselytsia - to safely return home.

On September 10, 2025, Kyselytsia was rescued at sea by fishing vessel KG-31393-TS, captained by Tran Van Chinh of Phu Quoc. He was found injured, in poor health, and without identification documents or personal belongings.

Upon receiving the report, the provincial police promptly instructed the immigration management division to coordinate with police in Phu Quoc special zone, Coast Guard Region 4 Command, and Border Guard forces to verify his identity, provide shelter, medical attention and essential support.

At the same time, local police worked closely with the provincial Department of Tourism and the embassy to implement citizen protection measures in line with regulations.

Thanks to the close coordination, by October 16, Kyselytsia had fully recovered, been issued a passport and visa, and completed exit procedures at Phu Quoc Airport. He departed for Ukraine on flight AK544, with direct assistance from An Giang’s immigration management department./.

Phu Quoc launches English classes for vendors, drivers ahead of APEC 2027

Singer, media executive charged over YouTube music copyright infringement

The Investigation Police Agency under the municipal Public Security Department said on August 5 that it had prosecuted and placed in temporary detention Nguyen Thi Hien, owner of the YouTube channel Phuong Diem Huyen, and Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Director of Unicorn Vietnam Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd., for investigation on the charge of infringing copyright and related rights under Article 225 of Vietnam's Penal Code.
