American investors put 248 million USD into 38 projects in Vietnam over the past 11 months.
That helped the United States rank 11th among 60 countries and territories that have invested in Vietnam during the period.
Thelatest addition has helped the American registered investment capitalin Vietnam to reach 10.92 billion USD, with an average of 15.35 millionUSD per project, business news website Cafef.vn quoted statistics fromthe Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Agency assaying.
During the reviewed period, it said that thehospitality, catering and restaurant sector attracted 4.67 billion USD,or equivalent to 42.8 percent of the total American investment capitalin Vietnam. It was followed by the manufacturing and processing sectorwith 2.2 billion USD, or 20 percent of the total American registeredcapital, and the real estate trading industry with 2.05 billion USD, or18 percent of the American capital.
American investors haveinvested in 41 out of 63 cities and provinces nationwide. Among theselocalities, the southern Ba Ria -Vung Tau province was the mostattractive investment destination for American businesses as they had 18projects, worth 5.3 billion USD, there. The northern port city of HaiPhong ranked second, attracting 13 projects worth 1.2 billion USD, andthe southern Binh Duong province came third, attracting 96 projectsvalued at 779 billion USD.-VNA
