The sixth National Party Congress, which took place in December 1986, was a significant milestone thanks to the introduction of Doi Moi (renewal) process.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a ceremony in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on February 1 marking the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3) and the 70th founding anniversary of the locality (February 12).
The eleventh national Party Congress adopted the updated platform on national construction during the transitional period towards socialism (supplemented and developed in 2011), the 2011-2020 Socio-Economic Development Strategy, the Report of the 10th Central Committee, the Party Statute (supplemented and revised) and many other documents of high importance.
