Vietnam Airlines carries over 1 mln passengers during Tet

Vietnam Airlines safely transported over 1 million passengers during the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival from Feb. 7-30, representing a year-on-year increase of 7 percent.

A VietnamAirlines representative said on Feb. 7 that the total number of domesticpassengers was over 646,500, up 6.8 percent while the number of foreignvisitors rose by 7.3 percent. The volume of cargos and parcels reachedover 11,200 tonnes.

During the period, Vietnam Airlinesoperated 8,423 flights with an average of 385 flights per day, up 13percent from the previous Tet holidays.

However,unfavourable weather, especially at Cat Bi, Dong Hoi, Vinh and Hueairports, resulted in a rise in the number of delayed and cancelledflights.

The national flag carrier plans to continue developing new products and launching promotional programmes in the near future./.

Quang Ninh boosts tourism with numerous events

Hue kicks off Visit Vietnam Year 2025
