Vietnam, Canada upgrade ties to Strategic Partnership

As part of his state visit to Canada, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam held talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Ottawa on the morning of September 24, 2026 (local time). The two countries’ leaders agreed to upgrade Vietnam-Canada relations to a Strategic Partnership.
