Vietnam, Cuba sign cooperation documents during Party chief’s visit

Vietnam and Cuba reached an array of cooperation documents during the State visit to Cuba by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong from March 28-31.

Havana (VNA) – Vietnam and Cuba reached an array of cooperation documentsduring the State visit to Cuba by General Secretary of the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong from March 28-31.

Thedocuments comprise a cooperation agreement between the CPV and the CommunistParty of Cuba (PCC) during 2018-2023, an agreement between the Vietnamese andCuban Governments, which frees Cuba from its debts to Vietnam, and anotheragreement on judicial support in criminal affairs.

Amemorandum of understanding (MoU) on the enhancement of scientific andtechnological collaboration between Vietnam’s Ministry of Science andTechnology, and the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, aMoU between the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, andCuba’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, and another MoU betweenthe Vietnamese and Cuban construction ministries were also inked on thisoccasion.

Ofnote, Vietnam and Cuba agreed to scale up efforts to review and push for thesigning of a new trade agreement, putting it into force as soon as possible,under a freshly-signed agreement on the end of negotiations of the new deal.

TheVietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Prensa Latina News Agency also inked anagreement, aiming to increase the exchange of information and effectivelyconsolidate the traditional cooperation between the two agencies in particularand the two countries in general.

Onthis occasion, the VNA reached a MoU with the Cuban News Agency (ACN) in aneffort to raise the efficiency of cooperation and make their informationsharing and professional assistance more suitable with requirements of themodern press.

SovicoGroup of Vietnam’s budget carrier Vietjet Air signed a MoU with Cuban CivilAviation Corporation, under which the two sides will seek cooperation foropportunities in the aviation market.-VNA
