Vietnam, Cuba step up prosecution partnership

Havana(VNA) – The prosecution sectors of Vietnam and Cuba have agreed to boost theexchange of information on non-traditional and trans-national crimes and soonink a bilateral judiciary support agreement in 2017-2018.

This was reached during talks between Le Minh Tri, Prosecutor-General of the SupremePeople’s Procuracy of Vietnam and Darío Delgado Cura, Prosecutor-General of theCuban Supreme Procuracy during the former’s working visit to Cuba from Dec.4-9.

They reviewed the sectors’ cooperation in 2015-2016 and said it was productive,contributing to cementing the two countries’ special relations.

In 2017-2018, the two sides will continue exchanging high-level visits andspeeding up the sharing of grassroots experience and personnel training.

The agreements were written down in a document inked by the officials after thetalks.

While in Cuba, Triand his entourage met with senior Cuban officials, including José Ramón Balaguer,head of the Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of CubaCentral Committee and María Esther Reus González, Justice Minister.

They laid wreath at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Havana and paidfloral tribute to National Hero José Martí and historical revolutionary leader FidelCastro in the province of Santiago de Cuba./.
