The Vietnamese Embassy in Czech Republic on February 2 hosted a ceremonyat the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech parliament to mark the 65thanniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the CzechRepublic (February 2, 1950-2015).
Addressingthe reception, Ambassador Truong Manh Son underlined the ever-growingdiplomatic relations between the two countries in the past 65 years.
He affirmed that Vietnam is willing to strengthenthe understanding and mutual trust with the Czech Republic and furtherdeepen the relationship.
The ambassador also announced 2015 as the Year of Vietnamese Culture in the Czech Republic.
He noted that around 60,000 Vietnamese people are residing in theCzech Republic, who observe the laws and well integrate into the hostcountry as well as contributing to the development of Czech society.
On his part, Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the CzechRepublic’s Chamber of Deputies, appreciated the Vietnamese people’sintegration into Czech society while preserving national identity.
The achievements the two countries have achieved in the past 65 yearswill lay excellent foundations for a better future of friendship andcooperation between the two countries, Hamacek said.
The Czech Republic considers Vietnam one of the 12 most potentialmarkets. Two-way trade between Vietnam and the Czech Republic doubled inthe past five years to reach 670 million USD in 2014.-VNA
