Vietnam Days launched in the Netherlands

The “Vietnam Days in the Netherlands” kicked off in The Hague on September 23 with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, who is currently on a working visit.

Addressing the event, the Deputy PM stressed the importance of the twocountries’ bilateral relations, particularly since their strategicpartnership on climate change adaptation, water resource management,agriculture and food security was established.

He expressed his belief that the four-day event would help improve thetwo countries’ relationship, intensify mutual understanding betweentheir people and businesses, and boost connections between ministriesand localities.

After the opening ceremony,Vietnamese artists performed traditional and modern Vietnamese music aswell as Dutch songs, accompanied by traditional Vietnamese instruments.

Earlier, the Deputy PM met Amsterdam’s Mayor E.EVan der Laan who affirmed the city’s commitment to enhancingmulti-faceted cooperation with Vietnamese localities, Hanoi inparticular, on urban planning and management, infrastructure upgrades,trade, and education and training.

He took theoccasion to invite Vietnamese representatives to attend theInternational Water Week, scheduled for October 2015.

Deputy PM Hai said the Vietnamese Government always pays attention toboosting its comprehensive cooperation with the Netherlands andAmsterdam in particular.

He welcomed the Mayor’svisit to Hanoi in December, believing that it will contribute to therealisation of agreements signed by the two cities’ leaders ineducation, urban management, water supply, and waste treatment.-VNA

A national-level celebration celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 will feature a 30-minute art performance, flag-saluting, speeches by top leaders and representatives of war veterans and young people. It will be followed by a military-civilian parade and a symbolic release of balloons and doves.

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts.
