Vietnam, Egypt boost bilateral ties

Vietnam and Egypt will coordinate with and support each other at international forums for the two countries’ interests and for maintaining a peaceful environment and cooperation for development, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung.

Talking with a Vietnam News Agency correspondent on September 2, thediplomat said during his meetings with Egyptian leaders, the Egyptianside expressed their wish to promote the traditional friendship andmulti-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in economics,trade and investment. Egyptian officials also said they want to learnfrom Vietnam ’s experience in socio-economic development, Chung said.

According to the ambassador, both sides shouldenhance the exchange of visits by high ranking delegations and maintainregular contacts between the two countries’ ministries and sectors, witha view to beefing up the multi-faceted cooperation, mutual trust andunderstanding in the time to come.

Both countriesshould prepare to conduct the fifth session of the Vietnam-Egypt JointCommittee to review the implementation of signed agreements and putforth goals and measures to boost cooperative relations in the newperiod.

Chung said both sides should set up aVietnam-Egypt Business Council in each country to serve as the mechanismto promote bilateral economic, trade and investment ties.

He added that the two countries will coordinate in organisingactivities to mark the 50 th anniversary of the establishment of theirdiplomatic ties in 2013./.
