At a mediameet held during the launch of Canon Business Services in Singapore thisweek, Konishi, who is responsible for leading and overseeing theoperations in Singapore and 18 other Asian countries, including Vietnam,said that Canon has over the past more than 10 years developed itsoperations in Vietnam with the latest being the establishment of CanonMarketing Vietnam in July 2012.

The new company wasestablished with the aim of creating an import, distribution, sales andservice system for Canon products in Vietnam, he added.

According to Konishi, Canon Vietnam is one of the five subsidiariesin the region recording highest growth. In 2012, Canon Vietnam’soperations were up 30 percent from the previous year, following onlyCanon India.

He attributed the high growth to gooddistribution network in Vietnam, including Le Bao Minh distributorand more than 300 agents.

The official confirmed that Vietnamremains a potential market that Canon is strategically prioritisingin the coming five to ten years.

He added that Canon BusinessServices, which has been newly developed to address current needs oforganisations by enabling organisations to outsource informationintensive processes, communications and administrative functions, willbe introduced first to Singapore businesses, then those in India,Hongkong and Malaysia within this year.

“The same services will be launched in Vietnam next year,” Konishi said.

Canon currently operates four manufacturing factories in Vietnam.-VNA
