Vietnam, Japan enhance trade unions cooperation
The Vietnam General
Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the National Confederation of Trade
Unions of Japan (Zenroren) have expressed their wish to intensify
bilateral cooperation and exchanges in a bid to protect workers’
legitimate rights and benefits.
VGCL Vice President Nguyen
Thi Thu Hong and her Zenroren counterpart Mamiko Jamada shared the view
at their talks in Hanoi on October 8.
Both sides vowed
to support each other at regional and global forums while sharing
professional experience at dialogues and seminars.
In her
introduction about Zenroren, Jamada said the confederation is doing its
best to forge a friendly and conducive working environment for the sake
of domestic and foreign workers.
At present, Zenroran has over one million members working in 68 local and professional trade unions.
As part of its visit to Vietnam from October 7-12, the Japanese
delegation is due to work with the Thua Thien-Hue Labour Union, the
Vietnam National Union of Health Workers, the Ministry of Labour and
Social Affairs, and meet with the Party Central Committee’s Commission
