As part of their visit to Laos from August 2-6, delegates from the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam held talks with their counterparts from the Lao Government Inspection Authority in Vientiane on August 3.

During the talks, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Inspector General Tran Duc Luong, and the Lao team, headed by Deputy Inspector General Khamsuc Bouayvong, reviewed their recent cooperation and experience sharing between the two agencies.

They also informed each other of their respective countries’ socio-economic situation, anti-corruption efforts, and inspection management in the first six months of this year.

They affirmed that their links made Vietnam and Laos’ inspection initiatives more practical and effective, contributing considerably to completing political tasks of the two agencies and strengthening the Vietnam-Laos comprehensive cooperation in general.

Along the increasingly intensive cooperation in all fields between the two Parties, States and people of Vietnam and Laos, the government inspection agencies have maintained close ties over the last 20 years.

The two sides signed cooperation agreements in the field in 1998, 2005, 2007 and 2012 while continuing to exchange visits at all levels.

The Vietnamese side also helped train Lao inspection officials while assisting the two countries’ provincial-level inspection agencies in border localities in setting up and enhancing cooperative ties.-VNA
