The search and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Laos during wartime have always been prioritised by the two countries’ parties, governments, and armies.

From 1994 through to the end of 2016, Vietnam’s search teams have found and repatriated thousands of sets of remains.

Statistics show that as of the end of 2016, Vietnamese search teams found more than 17,500 sets of remains. This result was contributed markedly by the Lao authorities and people.-VNA
