Van Hang recently made a visit to Xieng Khouang, northern Laos.
During the visit, Hang and his counterpart, Secretary of Xieng Khouang Party Committee and Governor Somkot Mangnomek, signed documents on boosting cooperation in security and economy, focusing on protection of common borders, trade, investment, agriculture, culture, sports and tourism.
The two sides also reviewed cooperation in the recent past.
Nghe An province agreed to send experts to help Xieng Khouang develop radio and television broadcasting.
Earlier, the Party Executive Board of Champassak province held a plenary session on the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Champassak and central cities and provinces of Vietnam in the 2006-2010 period.
They also adopted a draft plan of cooperation for the 2011-2015 period./.
