Finance Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and his Lao counterpart PhuphetKhamphunvong discussed a wide range of measures to step up bilateralfinancial cooperation during their talks in Hanoi on Dec. 12.
At the talks, the two ministers informed each other about the financial and economic situation of their respective country.
Minister Hue highlighted the close and deep financial cooperationbetween the two countries with an array of agreements being signed,helping promote mutual understanding and improve financial capacity forthe Lao side.
He expressed his hope that the relationswill be consolidated and developed in the coming time, contributing tothe traditional friendship between the two countries.
Forhis part, Minister Phuphet Khamphunvong highly valued Vietnameseexperts’ support for the development of Laos ’ financial sector.
Following the talks, the two ministers signed an agreement on financialregulations and management of Vietnamese non-refundable aid for Laosand a cooperation agreement between the two finance ministries in the2011-2015 period.
On the occasion, the Lao FinanceMinistry presented the Issara Order (Independence Order), third class,of the Lao state to Vietnam’s University of Finance and Marketing./.
