Vietnamese and Lao presses have achieved a close, comprehensive and effective cooperation in bilateral areas as well as in world forums during the past 60 years.
Lao Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Bosengkham Vongdala, who is also Chairman of the Lao Journalists’ Association, made the remark at an interview granted to a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Vientiane on the occasion of the 60 th anniversary of Lao Press Day (August 13).
The cooperation has not only greatly contributed to the dissemination of policies of the two countries’ States and Parties but also improved public awareness of the special ties between Vietnam and Laos , he said.
In any case, war time or peaceful time, the presses of Vietnam and Laos always stand side by side, the Lao Deputy Minister said. He also expressed his belief that the excellent relationship would continue to fruitfully prosper in the future.
On behalf of his ministry and Lao people working in the press sector, he thanked Vietnamese press such as VNA, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam radio and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association for their support.
He said the Vietnamese and Lao presses will continue to work closely through exchanges of information, professional skills and delegations as well as personnel training.
Vietnamese Television will open its representative office in Laos and his country will send correspondents to Hanoi , he said./.
