Vietnam Olympic team to face Japan in Asian Games

Vietnam’s U23 team will face Japan in Group D of the men’s football of the Asian Games (ASIAD) 18, following the draw held in Indonesia on July 5.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – Vietnam’s U23 team will face Japan in Group D of themen’s football of the Asian Games (ASIAD) 18, following the draw held inIndonesia on July 5.

Besides Japan, Vietnam will compete alongside Pakistan and Nepal.

In Group B, Thailand will meet Qatar and Uzbekistan, while Malaysia willcompete with the Republic of Korea and Bahrain in Group E.

The men’s football is to set kick off on August 14 and finish on September 1 inIndonesia. The official schedule will be announced in the next few days.

At the ASIAD 2014 held in Incheon, Vietnam, under the guidance of Japanesecoach Toshiya Miura, progressed from the qualifying round before losing to theUnited Arab Emirates in the quarter-finals.

Vietnam will convene on July 22 to prepare for the event. They will train atthe PVF Centre in Hanoi and play three friendly matches to hone their skills.

They will meet Barcelona B, U23 Oman and U23 Uzbekistan in early August at MyDinh National Stadium.

In other news, Vietnam women’s national football team have been drawn in GroupC along with Japan and Thailand. While Indonesia, the Republic of Korea,Chinese Taipei and Maldives are in Group A.

GroupB consists of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, China, Hong Kong(China) and Tajikistan.-VNS/VNA

In the qualifying round, they led with a time of 44.875 seconds. In the final, the duo continued to display outstanding form, completing the race in 43.419 seconds, finishing first ahead of strong competitors from Indonesia and Thailand.

Hanoi introduces framework for 2026 Creative Design Festival
