The Vietnamese teams won 11 gold, four silver and six bronze medals on November 1, the second day of competition of the on-going third Asian Indoor Games (AIG 3), temporarily ranking second in the medal tally.

China took the first place in the medal tally with 11 gold, six silver and four bronze medals and Kazakhstan came third with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

On the second day of competition, Vietnam bagged four more gold medals with the first won by the chess team, which includes International Masters Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Quang Liem, Pham Le Thao Nguyen and Hoang Thi Bao Tram, in the blitz event.

Nguyen Nhat Tu pocketed the second gold medal of the day in fin swimming after finishing first in the men’s 100m bi-fin race with a time of 44”59, breaking the previous record of 45”07.

Vo Nguyen Linh, the host country’s world champion, defeated Indian, Cambodian and Iranian rivals in the men’s 60kg category to take the sixth Vovinam gold.

The fourth gold medal of the day went to E-sports players in the Dota Allstars event after respective 3-0 and 2-1 wins against Kazakhstan and Mongolia./.
