Moscow (VNA) – A joint statement was issued at the end of the third session of the Vietnam - Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee co-chaired by NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin in Moscow on September 9.
According to the document, the official visit to Russia by Man from September 8-10, at the invitation of Volodin, coincided with the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Principles of Friendly Relations between the two countries (1994 - 2024), and took place in the context that the bilateral relationship has made progress across various spheres.
During the session, both leaders affirmed their readiness to cooperate in law-building to ensure the effective implementation of agreements between the two countries and their leaders. The aim is to promote the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, leveraging the 30-year achievements of the treaty.
Delegates from both sides shared experience in legislative activities to bolster cooperation in key areas such as economy-trade, investment, finance-banking, energy, science-technology, education-training, construction, health care, humanitarian efforts, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.
The joint statement underscored the need to expand inter-parliamentary relations and strengthen close coordination of actions both bilaterally and at regional and global forums. Both sides committed to overseeing and promoting the effective implementation of joint statements and signed cooperation documents. They also pledged to advance joint efforts to address global challenges and fulfill the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Man invited Volodin to visit Vietnam and co-chair the fourth session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, which will be hosted by the Vietnamese NA./.
