Vietnam wants to boost its relations with the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) and other political parties in Japan, creating a firm foundation for strengthening bilateral ties and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Truong Tan Sang, Politburomember and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party ofVietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), made the statement while receivingacting DPJ President Yoshito Sengoku in Hanoi on Feb. 26.

Sang expressed his belief that Sengoku, with his prestige, willcontinue making important contributions to developing the friendship andcooperation between Vietnam and Japan as well as speed up the effectiveimplementation of the two countries’ cooperative projects.

He also applauded the expansion of cooperation in supporting industries and coping with climate change.

For his part, Sengoku said that the DPJ in particular and the Japanesegovernment and people in general have attached importance to developingthe friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam and wouldmake efforts to effectively implement agreements reached by the twocountries, thus deepening their strategic partnership for peace andprosperity in Asia./.
