Vietnamese ambassador bids farewell to Cambodian leader

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Acting Head of State of Cambodia and Presidentof the Senate Samdech Say Chhum hosted a reception in Phnom Penh on September15 for Vietnamese Ambassador Thach Du who was bidding farewell at the end ofhis tenure.

The Cambodian official lauded Ambassador Du’s contributions to consolidatingand developing special traditional friendship and solidarity between the twocountries, stressing that the relationship is invaluable assets of people fromboth sides.

He thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government, People and Army for their supportfor Cambodia in national construction and development.

He pledged to cooperate with the new Vietnamese ambassador to Cambodia so thatthe diplomat can fulfill mission in the host nation.

For his part, Ambassador Du spoke highly of Cambodia’s development during histenure and thanked the Cambodian National Assembly, Government and relevantministries for creating favourable conditions for him to fulfill his mission.

He wished Cambodia attain further achievements in building a prosperouscountry.

Earlier, Ambassador Du bade farewell to Minister of Foreign Affairs andInternational Cooperation Prak Sokhonn on September 13.

Du will say goodbye to other Cambodian leaders such as King Norodom Sihamoni,Chairman of the National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin and Prime Minister SamdechHun Sen.-VNA
