Vietnamese, Australian firms cooperate in training public health workers

Hanoi (VNA) - Health Careers International (HCI) Group of Australia on March 31 signedcooperation agreements with strategic partners in Vietnam on promoting the trainingof public health workers.

Chief Operations Officer at the HCIsaid the two sides will join hands in training publiccommunity health workers whose bachelors' degrees will be accepted in any country aroundthe world.

According to theMinistry of Health, Vietnam is facing a shortage of human resources serving publichealth activities while the demand is increasing.

The World HealthOrganization (WHO) said that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the incidence ofnon-communicable diseases has increased and Vietnam’s population aging is progressing fast.

Therefore, Vietnam needs to have suitable preventive health humanresources in order to meet the growing demand for healthcare services./.
