London (VNA) – A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassyand the associations of Vietnameseexpatriates and students in the UK headed by Ambassador Tran Ngoc An laid wreathsat Thurrock Council on November 7 to commemorate 39 Vietnamese victims of thelorry tragedy in Essex.
Earlier the same day, the victims were officially confirmedto be Vietnamese citizens. They were found dead in a container truck in Essex,the northeast of London, UK, on October 23.
In response to the news, the Vietnamese Embassy issued astatement expressing deep sorrow, and extended its sympathy to the victims’families.
The embassy pledged to coordinate with a Vietnamese inter-sectoraldelegation now working in the UK and relevant agencies of both Vietnam and theUK to repatriate the victims’ remains as soon as possible.
