Vietnamese fishing boat seized in Australia

Australia's Maritime Border Command on April 12 said they and the Australian Fisheries Management Authorities have captured a Vietnamese fishing boat with 15 fishermen for allegedly illegal fishing.

Hanoi (VNA) – Australia's Maritime Border Command (MBC), amulti-agency task force within the Australian Border Force (ABF), on April 12said they and the Australian Fisheries Management Authorities have captured aVietnamese fishing boat with 15 fishermen for allegedly illegal fishing.

Thevessel was spotted by a surveillance aircraft of MBC on April 6 near SaumarezReef in the Coral Sea Conservation Park of Australia, then being boarded by theABF on April 10.

Uponsearching the vessel, ABF’s officials discovered a large volume of seacucumber. The boat and crewmembers have been escorted to Gladstone inQueensland State.

Thecase is being investigated.-VNA
