French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean NoelPoirier presented the most renowned award of the French Government tothe expert in Hanoi on November 16.

Ne, formerMinister of Energy and the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy onHydroelectricity, is now advisor to Electricity of Vietnam (EVN). Hiscareer is closely connected with the development of major hydropowerplant projects such as Thac Ba, Hoa Binh and Son La.

On theoccasion, the French Ambassador also presented the Medal of Merit,conferred by the French President, to former State Treasury GeneralDirector Nguyen Thi Nhon.-VNA

Rare green sea turtle released back into the wild in Quang Tri

The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), locally known as vich, is a rare and protected species under Vietnamese law. It is also listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a species of conservation concern and is included in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
