Vietnamese included in Ulsan city’s multilingual e-newspaper

The newspaper Ulsan City News of Ulsan city of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has launched a multilingual electronic version, including Vietnamese.

Seoul (VNA) – The newspaper Ulsan City News of Ulsan city of the Republicof Korea (RoK) has launched a multilingual electronic version, includingVietnamese.

Thenewspaper is published in 11 languages with a view to providing a variety ofnews to foreigners, including international students, immigrants and touristsin Ulsan. It also aims at popularising the city’s image.

Thefirst issue was published in late January with news about the inauguration ofthe Foreign Resident Support Centre and the commitment of the city’s mayor to changingpolicies in 2023 as well as dissemination of its main tourist attractions.

Theintroduction of the multilingual version is expected to facilitate foreignresidents residing in the city in receiving different information in theirnative languages, thus helping them secure better lives.

Ulsan is the 7th largest city in the RoK. Thenumber of foreign residents in the city was 4,463, accounting for 7.27% of thetotal population of 324,527 by 2020./.
