London (VNA) – British businesspeoplehave said Vietnam is an attractive investment destination, as well as being atop tourist spot.
Business leaders from the north of the UK werespeaking at the “Meet Vietnam” conference in the city of Manchester on June 25.
The event aimed to promote tourism and economicpotential of Vietnamese northern provinces of Yen Bai and Lang Son and CentralHighland province of Dak Lak.
The UK businesses at the workshop have strengthsin education, innovation and high technology.
Representatives from the Vietnamese provincesintroduced local potential and key projects that they want investment for ineco-tourism, smart urban infrastructure, clean agriculture for export, andrenewable energy.
Christopher Jeffery, Chairman of the BritishBusiness Group Vietnam, said the more than 40-year diplomatic ties and over10-year strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK have created a firmfoundation for the two countries’ cooperation.
This is the right time to deepen bilateralcooperation with the creativity of businesses, he said.
He cited clean agricultural production forexport as an example, saying that it is a field in which the UK andparticularly Manchester could work with Vietnam.
UK businesses also hailed the proactive effortsand creativity of Vietnamese localities in promoting their history, culture andinvestment potential.
Earlier, representatives from Vietnameselocalities visited Lord Mayor of Manchester Abid Latif Chohan, during whichthey voiced their hope to bolster cooperation with the British city.-VNA
