Vietnamese students encouraged to study in India

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh has encouraged Vietnamese students to study in India to explore the South Asian country and contribute to enhancing the fruitful relations with India.

New Delhi (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh has encouraged Vietnamesestudents to study in India to explore the South Asian country and contribute toenhancing the fruitful relations between Vietnam and India.

He told the Vietnameseyouths who came to India to attend the ASEAN-India student exchange programme inDelhi on May 10 that India has granted many scholarships to foreign students,especially those from ASEAN.

Vietnam and India areimportant partners of each other, he said, describing the students asambassadors helping promote the Vietnamese image to international friends, andmaintain and develop the relationship between the two countries.

The ASEAN-Indiastudent exchange programme, held by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs,the Confederation of Indian Industry and the ASEAN Secretariat, took place fromMay 1-11.

It aims to increasecultural understanding and economic links between the ASEAN and India.

Twenty five Vietnamesestudents selected from educational institutions nationwide participated in theprogramme, during which they visited many factories, universities, researchfacilities and landscapes in India.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, thePhilippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.-VNA
