Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the VPA General Staff, speaks at the reception (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) will always show solidarity and stand side by side with the Cuban revolutionary armed forces in the struggle for peace, national independence and socialism.
The statement was made by Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the VPA General Staff, at a reception held by the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi on December 6 to mark the 62nd founding anniversary of the Cuban revolutionary armed forces (1956-2018).
Minh said the relations between the two armies have always received attention from generations of leaders of the two countries’ Parties, Governments and Ministries of National Defence with a view to deepening the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Colonel Juan Miguel Garcia Montano, Cuba’s military, naval and air attaché in Vietnam, said the main task of the Cuban revolutionary armed forces is to protect national sovereignty and prepare combat forces.
He highlighted the strong development of the relations between the Cuban revolutionary armed forces and the VPA.-VNA
