Vietnam’s tourism has new logo

A logo slogan “Vietnam – a Different Orient” has won a contest to design a new logo-symbol for the national tourism promotion programme for the 2011-2015 period.

A logo slogan “Vietnam – a DifferentOrient” has won a contest to design a new logo-symbol for the nationaltourism promotion programme for the 2011-2015 period.

Thecontest’s organising board said the prize winning logo, inspired by thestar in Vietnam’s national flag, shows the reviewed vitality of anewly-emerging Vietnam with its unique national identity, while theslogan reflects the uniqueness, independence, and new vision of Vietnam –an attractive destination in Asia.

The organising boardpresented the second prize to the logo “Vietnam – a country of smile”and the third prize to “Vietnam – the pride of Asia”.

Thecontest, held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT),aims to promote Vietnam’s image to attract more international visitorswithin the framework of the national tourism development programme forthe 2011-2015 period and the national tourism development strategy forthe 2010-2020 period and vision for 2030.

The contest received a total of 413 entries since its launch in August 24, 2010.

Inthe 2010-2020 period, the tourism sector hopes to raise the number offoreign visitors by 10-15 percent and that of domestic visitors by 15-18percent./.
