A Sala tree garden in Ninh Thuan province has just been recognized by the Vietnam Record Association as the Sala garden with the most trees shaped in line with the Buddhist philosophy.
With a desire to introduce the beauty of Buddhist culture, Vietnam country and its people, Pham Van Dung, owner of the garden in Truong Sanh village, Phuoc Hau commune, Ninh Phuoc district, has planted more than 500 trees "Vo uu" or “Sala” (scientific name Couroupita Guianensis) with unique shapes, attracting a large number of visitors. Residents in Hanoi’s Dinh Thon village consider Bun tree their ‘treasure’ which has had a strong attachment to generations of the villagers for more than 300 years. The tree is in full bloom with bright yellow flowers in late Spring.
The jackfruit tree with a strange and rough shape, has been standing tall in front of the communal house of Cho village in Co Loa commune in Hanoi's Dong Anh district for half a millennium. Up to now, the ancient tree still bears fruits.
