A Vietnam delegation has joined the 2011 Congress of the United MalaysNational Organisation (UMNO) which runs for five days from Dec. 1, inKuala Lumpur .
The delegation, which is led by Mai TheDuong, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee(CPVCC) and Vice Director of the CPVCC Commission for Inspection, isamong the guests representing 26 parties from 24 countries.
Addressing the opening ceremony, UMNO President, Malaysian PrimeMinister Najib Razak revised the achievements of UMNO, the leading partyof Barisan Nasional (BN) and coalition partners through the past 50years.
He stressed the leading role of UMNO in buildingracial harmony to make a stable society. He also applauded the neweconomic policy and called for union among the party’s members.
In the framework of the Congress, the Vietnamese delegation delivered aspeech themed, “The political manner of eco-social transformation in aglobal crisis period”. They also took part in activities forinternational delegations including meeting with the UMNO President andVice President and gathering with other delegations./.
