Dong Thap: Remains of martyrs found in Cambodia reburied

The southern province of Dong Thap on July 25 held a ceremony at Tam Nong district’s martyr cemetery to rebury remains of 99 volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in international missions in Cambodia.

Dong Thap (VNA) – The southern province of Dong Thap on July 25 held a ceremony at Tam Nong district’s martyr cemetery to rebury remains of 99 volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in international missions in Cambodia.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Doan Tan Buu expressed his gratitude for great sacrifice of the martyrs who joined in international missions on battlefields in Cambodia to help the country liberate and escape from the Pol Pot genocidal regime.

Vice Governor of Cambodia’s Prey Veng province Khouch Kunthia showed his sympathy over losses of the martyrs’ families.

He affirmed that Cambodia in general and Posat and Prey Veng provinces in particular will continue supporting teams searching and repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Cambodian territory during wartime.

The remains of 99 soldiers and experts were discovered during the 2018-2019 dry season.-VNA
