Medical staff take samples for COVID-19 testing in Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Febuary 6 (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam found 45 new cases of COVID-19in the community over the past 12 hours to 6pm on February 8, pushing thenational count to 2,050, including 1,160 locally-transmitted cases, accordingto the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Of the new cases, three are in the northern province of QuangNinh, three in Hanoi, two in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai, 25 inHo Chi Minh City, and 12 in the northern province of Hai Duong.
Among patients undergoing treatment at medical establishments, 106 testednegative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, seven twice and five thrice. Thenumber of deaths related to the disease remained at 35.
As many as 89,782 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients orentered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are being quarantined, including 529in hospitals, 19,879 in state-designated quarantine establishments and the remaining 69,374at their residences.
