– A ceremony was held in the northern province of Hung Yen on July 1 to mark the 110th birth anniversary of late Party General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (July 1, 1915 – 2025).

The ceremony was attended by Party General Secretary To Lam, along with former and incumbent senior officials, along with revolutionary veterans, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and the late leader’s family representatives. Read full story

– Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, on June 30, during her working visit to Italy, paid a courtesy call on Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, highlighting the growing momentum in Vietnam – Vatican relations.

Pope Leo XIV expressed his delight at the meeting and noted the positive progress in bilateral ties, including the recent upgrade to the status of the Resident Representative of the Holy See in Vietnam. – Vietnam began issuing Level-2 electronic identification (e-ID) accounts for foreign residents in the country on July 1 as part of the national digital transformation agenda and governance modernisation efforts.

According to the Ministry of Public Security’s Immigration Department, foreigners holding valid temporary or permanent residence permits in the country are eligible to obtain the digital ID, making it easier for them to complete online administrative procedures while reducing processing time, paperwork and direct contact requirements. The system ensures authentication accuracy and protects legitimate rights during their stay in Vietnam. Read full story

– The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) on June 30 officially launched the Vietnam Science and Technology Exchange, and outlined its future development direction.
