- A delegation of the Party Central Committee, the NationalAssembly (NA), the State President, the Government, and the Vietnam FatherlandFront (VFF) Central Committee laid wreaths at the monument to war heroes andmartyrs on Bac Son street and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at hismausoleum in Hanoi on July 27.

- Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong met President of theItalian Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana in Rome on July 26, during which heaffirmed Vietnam considers Italy as its important partner in Europe and iswilling to work together with Italy to take the bilateral strategic partnershipto a new height.

Highlighting the mutual support to help each otherovercome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Thuong said that it is avivid manifestation for the two nations’ solidarity. Read full story

- Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong met with President ofthe Italian Senate Ignazio La Russa in Rome on July 26 as part of his Statevisit to the European country.

President Thuong highlighted the importance of hisvisit as the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomaticties and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership, affirming thatVietnam always attaches importance to the strategic partnership with Italy,including the close cooperation between their legislative bodies. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 27 visited sick soldiersand war invalids who are being cared for at the Nho Quan nursing centre in thenorthern province of Ninh Binh on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of theWar Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - 2023).

The centre has received and cared for over 2,000 sick soldiersand war invalids over the past 58 years since it was established. Now, withabout 70 staff members, the centre is taking care of 150 people including 68sick soldiers and war invalids, 23 revolution contributors and children ofsoldiers who are Agent Orange victims, and 56 people with special disadvantagedcircumstances. Read full story

- Con Dao National Park is the first place in Vietnam to conductresearch on and successfully roll out an effective sea turtle protection model,and thus has become an important sea turtle conservation area of Vietnam,region and the world, heard a conference on sea turtle and marine animalstaking place on July 26-27.

The conference, taking place at the Centre for EnvironmentalEducation, Management Board of Con Dao National Park in the southern provinceof Ba Ria- Vung Tau, is an opportunity for experts in the field to evaluateresults of the implementation of the National Action Plan for the conservationof sea turtles in the 2016-2025 period./. Read full story

Vietnam, Ireland seek ways to step up bilateral cooperation

Hang proposed the two sides further strengthen political trust, increase high-level and all-level exchanges, and organise youth, student and cultural activities to mark the upcoming anniversary. Vietnam attends defence services, security exhibitions in Malaysia

16th NA reviews amendments to four tax-related laws on April 21

Lawmakers are expected to discuss the supplementary assessment of the implementation of the 2025 socio-economic development plan and state budget, as well as performance in the early months of 2026. They will also review the five-year socio-economic development plan for 2026–2030, thrift practices and anti-wastefulness efforts in 2025, and progress in achieving national gender equality targets. The session is broadcast live on radio and television, enabling voters and the public to follow proceedings.
